UNDERWATER NSW:  SYDNEY GETS ANOTHER GONG!

ginclearfilm is proud to announce it received Silver at the Australian Cinematographer Society  NSW / ACT Awards last Saturday, 20 November 2010 for Underwater NSW: Sydney.

This is a huge accolade for the film and the underwater cinematographer Jon Shaw who worked on the project for over three years.

“I was absolutely ecstatic when notified of the award, it’s a great honour to be recognised by the Australian Cinematographer’s Society”, said Jon.

Underwater NSW:  Sydney has been showered with praise since its launch back in 2009.  It was the winner of the 2009 Wetpixel Sensational Seas contest.  The reward - The film's introduction is set to feature on the prestigious 2010 Sensational Seas movie, narrated by Stan Waterman, Emmy Award-winning pioneer underwater film producer and photographer.  Then in July 2010, it placed third in the Underwater Australasia 2010 Video Contest.

“For me, Awards are icing on the cake and this one is definitely double chocolate!”  It’s just fantastic to be able to get up each day and go out diving and experience the beauty of the ocean – and call it work.  Sydneysiders are so lucky to have these beautiful waterways at their doorsteps”, said Jon.

Jon Shaw, founder, became a certified diver at 13, commercially trained at 19 and gained his instructor rating at 21.  Jon holds a BSc (Hons) Degree in Marine Biology from the University of Plymouth, UK.  Jon lectures part-time for TAFE NSW in marine studies.
